In the mid 1920s, Cecil Grilli emigrated from Italy with his parents  As a young man he exhibited a love of woodwork so he learned the trade and made it his profession becoming a union carpenter. Eventually he started a small business making custom furniture and then gradually expanding into home construction.  In his desire to please his customers, he developed an attention to detail and a love of his art.

His son, Anthony Grilli pursued a career in design graduating from Columbus College of Art and Design before taking a creative position with Lazarus Department Store, a Division of Federated Department Stores,  in their Visual Merchandising Department.  During his eleven years with Lazarus he broadened his knowledge of retail concepts which he then added to the woodworking skills he had learned from his father. 

In 1978 Anthony started his own company, Signature Store Fixtures, which focused on producing store fixtures and cabinetry for the small retailer. Anthony was able to offer the small retailer the advantage of his knowledge of design and visual merchandising specific to the retail market along with that same attention to detail and desire to please the customer which was instilled in him by his father. 

In the 1990s, Anthony’s son Mario studied engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, but upon returning home to Ohio realized that his heart was in the family business. He brought the engineering skills he acquired while in college and pushed the family business into the 21st century by purchasing state-of-the-art computerized woodworking equipment keeping Signature Store Fixtures on the cutting edge in the woodworking field.

Signature Store Fixtures prides itself on its desire to encourage the small retailer and assist them in their quest to offer their goods and services to the consumer. In the highly competitive retail market it is essential that the retail marketer use everything possible to attract a customer.  Good store design and merchandising is essential to a profitable retail business. 

Signature Store Fixtures understands the specific problems and concerns of the small retailer, whether it is in hard goods, soft goods, or in the service sector such as banking.

Signature Store Fixtures has been in continuous operation in the cabinetry and millwork industry since 1978. Although we originally sought to serve the retail and banking sector, we found our products and services in demand by schools and commercial clients who require high-end custom cabinetry of a specialty nature.
